Dave Chappelle Leaves Stage in Hartford During Apparent Meltdown!

Four days into the Oddball Fest, co-headliner Dave Chappelle apparently has had his first meltdown.  According to some disgruntled Twitterers (see picture) and several Youtube videos (below), Dave took the stage and he sat on stage for 25 minutes smoking cigarettes and reading a book.

After watching the video, one could argue this is just what Dave has been like for the past seven plus years.  Going on stage, doing nothing but smoke cigarettes and listen to himself talk while occasionally laughing.  One could also argue, the crowd turned on him before he had a chance.

All signs pointed to the Oddball Fest being a awful idea to have Chapelle involved, because every venue has about 20,000 people there that want to here “I’m Rick James Bitch!” and are probably named Bryce or Chad.  Whether you find him funny or not, it didn’t take a brain surgeon to see this one coming.

Are people surprised by this? His whole act for years was sitting down and smoking a cigarette. It’s like if you saw Robin Williams and said, “You know, that guy was really chatty”.

He walked off stage in Sacramento…doing pretty much the same thing. AND Damon Wayans did his farting into a microphone thing in Sacramento. In their defense, we do suck.

I don’t know why people are surprised by his act. This is what he does. This is his routine. See previous comment who said it way better than I ever could.

Hard to get jokes out when people are screaming, “I’m Rick James, bitch!” at the guy.

Hartford was acting like a bunch of idiots and the writer of this article sounds like one of the idiots involved. It’s a city with no class. Chappelle’s got nothing to prove, If Hartford came to watch the chappelle show they should’ve stayed home and watched it on netflix
